OAKLAND — A woman was injured in a shooting Monday evening in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Around 7:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a person needing help in the 1400 block of 46th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg and police found that the woman had been driving an Infiniti sedan in the 6100 block of International Boulevard when she realized she had been shot.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, an Oakland police spokesperson said.
No information about shooting suspects or associated vehicles was immediately released.
Earlier Monday, two people were shot and killed about three miles east, on 68th Avenue. Around the same time, an FBI agent shot and killed a person while working with a U.S. Marshals task force a mile north of the BART-area shooting. Later, three people were shot on a street just yards from the Fruitvale BART station.
