PLEASANT HILL — A young adult skateboarding within a group of them was stabbed late Wednesday after being chased by three people who exited a car and ran the person down after an altercation, police said.
An ambulance rushed the person to a hospital for treatment. Police had no update on the person’s condition early Thursday.
Police did not release the victim’s age or gender.
According to a police statement, officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to the area of Putnam and Oak Park boulevards after receiving several 911 calls. Investigators are seeking people in that area who have video surveillance footage.
Police said the early investigation revealed that several young adults were skateboarding in the area when a vehicle drove by them twice. Police described the vehicle as an older model white four-door Toyota Corolla or a similar make with a damaged windshield.
Both times, somebody in the vehicle threw eggs at the skateboarders, police said.
The stabbing victim then threw something back at the vehicle, and three people got out of it and started chasing, police said. At least one of them stabbed the person several times, police said.
Police urged anyone with surveillance cameras to contact them at 925-288-4600.
