Veteran honored for founding transition center
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Tom Griffin received the Military Hero Award from the Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation, for founding and chairing the Veterans Transition Center.
The non-profit center provides counseling, therapeutic support, and housing and employment services for homeless veterans and their families on the Monterey Peninsula.
Griffin and others were honored recently in Palo Alto in an event marking the sixth-month anniversary of the Lee & Penny Anderson Defenders Lodge, a no-cost hotel for veterans undergoing medical care at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Palo Alto.
