Valley Stars: Pleasanton retirees award scholarships to young musicians

Promising young musical talent awarded. The Stoneridge Creek retirement community in Pleasanton has awarded 10 area high school musicians with $500 scholarships. The 10 students from Amador Valley High, Foothill High, Dublin High, Livermore High and Granada High were selected by their schools’ respective music teachers and recognized at a concert with the Stoneridge Creek choir as promising young musical talent. The scholarships awarded by the Pleasanton retirement community were part of an ongoing effort to support the arts in the greater community.

The honorees were Crystal Chu and Miranda Paulous, Foothill High School in Pleasanton; Jennifer Jo and Abby Matsusaka, Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton; Ethan Ha and Lindsey Perry, Livermore High School in Livermore; Christie Koay and Alexandra Metcalf, Dublin High School in Dublin; Fernanda Van Atta, and Alice Williams, Granada High School in Livermore.
