Pleasanton Double Racing Festival — 6:30 a.m. registration, 8:15 a.m., 14K and 8K starts, 10:45 a.m. Kids Cup “Double Racing, Double for short, is a two stage running challenge. Participants first run the longer stage, take a halftime break and then run the second stage. Times are combined for scoring. Participants must complete both stages to get a result. It is running with a halftime. Benefiting the Pleasanton Partnership in Education Foundation this Christmas-themed running even is for the entire family. The festival offers runners three distance options: 15K Double (10K + 5K), 8K (5K + 3K) and one and a half mile Kids Cup Double (one mile + half mile). Hanukkah Menorah Parade — 6 p.m. The first Menorah parade featuring 10 Menorah-adorned vehicles parading through the streets of Pleasanton. Escorted by the Pleasanton Police Department, the parade will depart from Chabad of the Tri Valley, 1258 Quarry Lane, Pleasanton and loop its way through town arriving at 915 Main Street where an outdoor nine foot Hanukkah Menorah will be kindled with music and traditional holiday doughnuts and potato latkes.
