West Coast Soccer

Girls U16

The U16 West Coast Wonder jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 4-2 victory over the Walnut Creek Explosion.

Lauren Sandy and Leslie Jimenez both scored in first 12 minutes of the game to give the Wonder an early lead but Walnut Creek bounced back and tied the game. West Coast scored again, when Estepani Cano guided a deep ball into the net right before halftime.

In the second half, the Wonder began to dominate ball possession, allowing just one shot on goal as keeper Sonia Nichols and the defensive line of Amanda Eijansantos, Erica Dias, Tessa Viola, Colette Mardirossian and Morgan Hall held strong. Amanda Silviera and Marissa Pletschette locked down the middle providing Lauren Sandy and Toni Melissare with multiple opportunities, but it was Salina Cardoza who capped the scoring with a well deserved fourth and final goal.

Girls U12

The U12 West Coast Kaos finished another successful season with wins over Delta United 3-1 and Newark Elite 3-0. Katie Reid led the Kaos offense, scoring three of the teams six goals.

The West Coast squad finished NorCal Premier fall league play with a 7-1-2 record.

Girls U12

The U12 West Coast Fury wrapped up the NorCal 3/4 Division championship with a 1-0 victory over Diablo FC in Concord.

Kelena Brongiel scored the lone goal off an assist from Kaleigh Castillo, while the Fury defense limited Diablo FC to three shots on goal. Bella Romero, Castillo and Brongiel were all top players. Faith Rogers, Kourtney Kessler and Angie Alfonzo had standout performances, while Bella Romero, Castillo and Brongiel played well on both sides of the ball.

The Fury finished atop the standings with a 7-0-1 record and have now won 17 of their last 18 matches.

Girls U9

The U9 West Coast Krush finished NorCal 3/4 Bronze division play and secured the league championship with wins over Mustang Flash and Tri-Valley SC Blues.

In a battle for first place, the Krush shutout the Mustang Flash 2-0 in a tightly contested match. Ciella Seals put the Krush on the board with a first half goal that was assisted by Dakota Baird. Madylin Harrell converted on a penalty kick to a add an insurance goal in the second half.

After the victory, the Krush sat atop the league standings but still needed win or a tie against Tri-Valley to win the league title. After a slow start, Sydney Goodwin fed a cross to Ciella who put the ball into the net for a 1-0 Krush. Dakota Baird passed to Marina Rivera for a another goal right before halftime. The second half was all Krush as Ciella added two more goals to complete the hat-trick, while the Krush defense recorded a 4-0 shutout victory.

The Krush soccer team consists of: Madylin Harrell, Mina Shokoor, Jillian Barth, Coach Sara Girotto, Hailey Brackett, Sydney Goodwin, Kiara Franklin, Ciella Seals, Arianna Butler, Marina Rivera, Dakota Baird and Kira Korsak.
