Sandbags are available at Milpitas Sports Center, corporation yard

Posted on December 16, 2014

The epic storm that pummeled Northern California yesterday and continues to soak the state today is expected to spawn significant localized flooding.

Free sandbags and sand are available 24 hours per day at the Milpitas Sports Center, 1325 E. Calaveras Blvd., near the track.

Sand and sandbags are available at the Milpitas Corporation Yard, at 1265 N. Milpitas Blvd., from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents must fill the sandbags and bring a shovel at both locations.

If residents see storm-related damage or flooding, they can call (408) 586-2600 during business hours, or (408) 586-2400 after hours. Call 911 to report downed powerlines or other storm emergencies.
