Richmond: Shooting victim expected to survive

Posted on November 18, 2014

RICHMOND — A Richmond male shot in his lower leg Tuesday afternoon was expected to survive, police said.

Detectives were investigating whether the shooting at 10th Street and Lincoln Avenue in the central part of the city may be gang related, Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said. ShotSpotter technology alerted police around 12:24 p.m. and recorded 15 shots, Abetkov said.

Police arriving on the scene found the victim on the ground with a bullet wound but conscious, Abetkov said. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
