Redwood City: Men arrested for allegedly burglarizing home

Posted on December 16, 2014

Two men were arrested Monday after they were caught on camera burglarizing a home in Redwood City, police said.

The homeowner called police after remotely observing the men rummaging through her home in the Farm Hill neighborhood.

Police said the men ran from officers who arrived at the home moments after receiving the call, abandoning items they had allegedly stolen. The men were arrested a short time later.

The men were identified as Carlos Yepez, 20, and Alonso Godinez, 18, both of East Palo Alto. They were booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of burglary, according to police.

“Due to the homeowner’s effective use of available technology, her immediate reporting of the breach of her home, and the short response time of the Redwood City Police Department, these suspects were caught in the act of residential burglary,” police said in news release.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Detective Roman Gomez at 650-780-7130.
