Human remains found along Highway 9 near Saratoga

Posted on December 15, 2014

SARATOGA — Police are in the process of recovering human remains that were found Sunday off the side of Highway 9 in unincorporated Santa Clara County, a sheriff’s spokesman confirmed.

The remains were found near Booker Creek Road in the hills above Saratoga, said Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup.

Stenderup said the remains appear to have been at that location for roughly one year. Officials did not release any more information about the person’s presumed age, gender or cause of death.

Police will continue to investigate how the remains got along the side of the highway, and more importantly, the identity of the remains.
