East Bay leaders schedule police accountability forums

Posted on December 16, 2014

As daily protests continue over the killings of unarmed black men by police officers, East Bay elected officials are organizing community forums to let people vent their frustration and discuss reforms to improve the relationship between law enforcement and minority communities.

Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson, along with black elected officials and ministers are holding a town-hall meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Beebe Memorial Cathedral, 3900 Telegraph Ave., Oakland

And next month, the Oakland City Council will hold a Black Lives Matter forum. The meeting, the date of which has not been finalized, will address police matters and also whether the city is being fair to minority communities when it comes to providing services and awarding contracts.
