OAKLAND — Three people were injured in a shooting Monday afternoon just outside the Fruitvale BART station, authorities said.
Around 5:15 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity near the 3300 block of East 12th Street yards away from the station.
When officers arrived, they found two victims in the 3300 block, then discovered a third person moments later about a half-block away. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Police worked to block off streets around the scenes. No information about shooting suspects or associated vehicles was immediately released.
About two hours before the triple shooting, two people were shot and killed about three miles east, on 68th Avenue. Around the same time, an FBI agent shot and killed a person while working with a U.S. Marshals task force a mile north of the BART-area shooting.
For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in each shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
