Fans are growing more and more excited about the third season of You. Starring Penn Badgley, the series follows a charming man who seems like a great catch, but he’s actually a serial killer and a stalker. The show left off in 2019 with a major plot twist, raising the question of just what might happen next. Though the release date for You Season 3 is still unknown, new teaser images suggest it’ll be on Netflix soon.
‘You’ Season 2 had fans eager for more
Last season followed Joe Goldberg (Badgley) as he pursued Victoria Pedretti’s Love Quinn. He thought she was the perfect woman, but in a surprising twist, he discovered Love had a dark past. Like Joe, she is a stalker and a murderer, having killed Candace, Delilah, and a number of others.
After the discovery, Joe became afraid of Love, but he decided to stay in the relationship after learning of her pregnancy. The season concluded with the two moving into a family home in the suburbs, where Joe finds his next target, Natalie (Michaela McManus).
“Married to a powerful man, Natalie is a professional and social success,” her character description reads, according to Variety. “But she sees through the shallow, Stepford-esque vibe that surrounds her, and beneath her wry exterior, she leads a secret life. One that Joe is willing to work hard to learn more about.”

‘You’ Season 3 teaser images have finally emerged
As we wait for the third season of You, the show dropped several teaser images on Sunday, Aug. 29. One of them shows a man dressed in an apron as a kitchen timer goes off. “Prepare yourselves” then flashes across the screen. “We’ve got a bun in the oven….” reads the caption.
Though it doesn’t say when to expect season 3, the next teaser image tells fans to “set [their] timers.” Does that mean it’ll be here soon? It kind of sounds like that to us.
‘You’ Season 3 is done filming
The third season of You is in post-production after finishing filming in the spring. Plot details are limited, but Badgley previously told TVLine that it won’t be happily ever after for Joe and Love.
“Even Joe says, pretty unequivocally, that they’re not soulmates,” he said. “He’s afraid of her at the end. Basically, it’s set up for Season 3 in a way where they would be each other’s arch-nemesis.”
He also said Joe “probably” won’t be a great father either. “Does he have it in him, in that he’s a human being? Is it possible? Sure,” he shared, “And if there’s anything that can change a person, it’s parenthood. But I don’t know that Joe can or should change. I certainly don’t know if he will change.”
