Attack on Titan Season 4 begins with a switch in perspective, where the audience now follows Gabi Braun and Falco Grice. The next generation of Eldian Warriors now have a shot at claiming the power of the Armored Titan. Reiner will pass on the titan’s abilities when it’s his time. He has failed his mission and now must face the consequences of what happened on Paradis Island.

Eren Jaeger plans to create as much destruction as possible on Marleyan soil. The innocent lives caught in the crossfire mean nothing to him. However, his allies have started to question Eren’s methods. Meanwhile, Gabi and Falco wrestle with their preconceived notions of Paradis citizens.

The season ended on quite the cliffhanger, which promised a big action set-piece in the finale’s last moments.

Domestic anime fans have had issues finding the best way to watch many of their favorite franchises. However, streaming services have made the process less painful. They have made more of an effort to invest in anime content right after it airs in Japan.

It has been confirmed that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 will air in Japan on the NHK General channel. However, they haven’t officially confirmed other viewing options for the new season.

Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 1 had a specific viewing format on December 7, 2020. In addition to its television premiere in Japan, it was also available on streaming services Funimation and Crunchyroll in Japanese with English subtitles. Adult Swim’s Toonami began playing it on Jan. 9, while Funimation released the English dub on Jan. 10.

Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 will likely follow suit. Games Radar confidently states that fans can expect the show on Funimation and Crunchyroll as a “simulcast.” This means that episodes in Japanese with English subtitles will air the same day that they play in Japan.

There’s still no confirmation on an exact premiere date or an episode count. However, there’s some speculation around a mid-January premiere date.

The show’s big conclusion is bittersweet

Attack on Titan is no stranger to controversy. Despite the show being wildly popular, the final season has been a bit polarizing. Manga readers will recognize how fast the creators are bringing the series to an end. It’s particularly ambitious to introduce new point-of-view characters within its final season.

Gabi has particularly been at the heart of the backlash. She killed off a fan favorite character and has had “plot armor,” similar to what Eren has had throughout the series. Gabi has had hate groups formed online by those who despite the character.

However, Attack on Titan remains to be one of the most popular anime franchises in the world. It has a loyal fanbase who are incredibly excited to see the story’s final chapter. Audiences can look forward to the tentative release date that has been announced, as well as its distribution plan that will likely follow its predecessor.
