The ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 6’ ‘Game Within a Game’ featured plenty of surprises
They already done had theirses — or had they? This season of RuPaul’s spinoff series included celebrity guest judges, lip-sync assassins, and new acting challenges. There were also surprises for the RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants.
One of the biggest surprises was a surprise even to the contestants. After being eliminated, RuPaul invited them for a “Game Within a Game.”
Most of the eliminated contestants accepted RuPaul’s invitation, but only one would rejoin the competition for their chance at the crown and the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” During one episode, fans finally learned what this twist included.
Each eliminated queen had a chance at Ru-demption
After weeks of spirited competition, the “Top Four” contestants were Ginger Minj, Trinity K. Bonet, Kylie Sonique Love, and Ra’Jah O’Hara. Not for long, though. After settling down in the Werk Room, these queens get a surprise announcement.
“Welcome to RuPaul’s Secret RuDemption Lip-Sync Smackdown: The game within a game! A competition so big, it’s been nine weeks in the making,” Kressley said to the queens in the Werk Room.
“[It’s] a competition so secret, you had no clue it was even happening,” he continued. “A competition so earth-shattering, its winner could knock you off your path to the Drag Race Hall of Fame!”
On the screen, the final contestants saw the eliminated queens lip-sync against each other. The winner moved on to the next eliminated contestant. However, for several weeks in a row, Silky Nutmeg Ganache commanded the stage.
She had props hidden in her outfits, from a full wet bar to a homemade guitar. As the last queen who was eliminated from All-Stars 6, Eureka and Silky Nutmeg Ganache lip-synced for the chance to re-enter the competition. Eureka was victorious.
Eureka O’Hara returned to the ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 6’ competition
After lip-syncing her way back to the competition, Eureka became a finalist in RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 6, along with Ginger Minj, Kylie Sonique Love, and Ra’Jah O’Hara. Silky Nutmeg Ganache earned praise from fans, some sharing their support on social media.
This wouldn’t be the first twist that RuPaul created for the All-Stars competition. During RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 2, the host announced that the contestants would be eliminating each other. RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5 introduced the “lip-sync assassin” aspect of the competition.
The final episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 6 premieres exclusively on Paramount+.
