[SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers ahead for Big Brother 23 Week 8 nominations, Coin of Destiny winner, and Power of Veto holder.]
After losing one of her closest allies outside The Cookout, Tiffany Mitchell became the following Head of Household. However, the Coin of Destiny winner threatened her plans as the holder could anonymously overthrow her nominations, putting up whichever two houseguests they wanted next to the third nominee, Xavier Prather. Who won the Power of Veto, and how does it affect Tiffany’s target?
Tiffany Mitchell became Head of Household for ‘Big Brother 23’ Week 8
Even though Tiffany Mitchell believed keeping Derek Xiao served her game the best, her allegiance lay with the Cookout, who determined the biggest physical competitor remaining threatening their games the most.
After losing a close ally, she regained control of her game by winning Head of Household.
However, the remaining power left in the High Rollers Room, Coin of Destiny, which allowed the holder to overthrow Tiffany’s nominations anonymously, jeopardized the Cookout’s standings.
Following the HOH competition, the houseguests randomly chose envelopes that contained $50 – $100 BB Bucks to help boost their account for the final power.
Claire Rehfuss dethroned Tiffany but kept nominations the same
Tiffany has wanted to target Sarah Beth Steagall for the past two weeks, but her close ally, and Cookout member, Kyland Young, won HOH, followed by SB the following week.
Therefore, Tiffany couldn’t wait to take her shot, nominating Sarah Beth alongside Kyland with Xavier Prather as the third nominee due to a punishment he accepted in exchange for the Power of Veto last week.
Although Hannah Chaddha, Derek “Big D” Frazier, and Claire Rehfuss had the money for the final power, the latter is seemingly the only one who played. She ultimately chose to keep her allies’ nominations the same.
Even so, Tiffany had to give up the HOH room and wasn’t automatically eligible to participate in the POV. However, she can compete in next week’s HOH competition.
Hannah Chaddha won Power of Veto and will likely use it on Xavier Prather
The three nominees and randomly selected players, Alyssa Lopez, Claire, and Hannah, faced off for the POV, with the latter pulling out the win. With the medallion still around her neck, the youngest houseguest began detailing her plan for the end, describing how she planned to cater to everyone in the Cookout to ensure they would take her to the final two.
She explained she knows Xavier cares about loyalty, so she wants to take him off the block. Additionally, she doesn’t feel comfortable with two Cookout members available for eviction and ineligible to vote.
However, Kyland prefers Hannah to use the POV on him, hoping the move would boost his “resume.” She also talked to Claire about her Veto plans, explaining she wanted to use the gesture to put the guys against each other and “fracture” their working relationship. Therefore, Hannah will likely use the POV on Xavier.
Tiffany, Claire, and Hannah, who were Derek X.’s close allies, swept this week’s competitions to all but guarantee Sarah Beth’s eviction. Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8/7 Central on CBS.
