This 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was sold new by Cawood Auto company of Port Huron, Michigan, and is said to have remained with its original owner in Georgia until its recent acquisition by the selling dealer. The car is finished in red over a matching vinyl interior, and power is from a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes the WS6 Special Performance Package, a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, removable glass roof panels, electric locks and windows, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and more. This Trans Am shows 3,800 miles and is offered in Michigan with a window sticker affixed to the driver’s window, original purchase and registration documents, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Bright Red (75) and features a “screaming chicken” hood decal, a shaker hood scoop, removable glass T-top panels, chrome roof and rocker panel moldings, a rear window defroster, and a power-operated antenna. The selling dealer notes blemishes on the left fender and door as well as near the rear window.
Factory gold-finished 15″ cast aluminum wheels are wrapped 225/70 Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country Tour tires. Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes were equipped as part of the WS6 Special Performance Package.
The cabin is upholstered in red vinyl with matching door panels and carpets, while the dash and center console are trimmed in maroon. Amenities include electric locks and windows, air conditioning, and a Delco AM/FM radio.
Instrumentation housed in an engine-turned panel consists of a tachometer with an integrated clock, an 85-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 3,800 miles.
The 5.0-liter V8 was factory-rated at 145 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque when new. The fuel tank is said to have been replaced under previous ownership.
