This 2003 BMW Z8 was first purchased at Grayson BMW in Knoxville, Tennessee and resided in North Carolina until the current owner purchased the vehicle in 2011 in New York. Finished in Titanium Silver with a removable matching hardtop over a red and black interior, this roadster is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The owner brought the car to Florida in 2018, and the odometer now shows 20k miles. In preparation for sale, the selling dealer inspected the vehicle and installed a new chain tensioner, belts, battery, and more as detailed below. This E52 is now offered in Bonita Springs, Florida on behalf of the owner with a clean Carfax report, a car cover, a hardtop with stand, and a clean New York title.
The Z8 was built with an aluminum spaceframe under bodywork designed by Henrik Fisker, and this car represents one of the 2,543 examples produced for the US market. This exterior is finished in Titanium Silver (354) and is equipped with neon taillights, chromed side mirror housings, side vents incorporating BMW badges, and twin exhaust outlets. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
Staggered-width 18″ wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The removable hardtop is shown fitted above, and a removable boot for the softtop is included. The seller reportedly flushed the brake fluid in April 2019 in preparation for the sale.
The cabin is finished in red and black leather with silver and brushed-aluminum trim. Heated and powered seats are featured along with a concealed stereo. A door-lock actuator was replaced in April 2019.
A 3-spoke banjo-style steering wheel is equipped, and instrumentation is located within a central cluster. The gauges feature red backlighting and include an odometer showing just under 20k miles, less than 600 of which were added by the current owner.
The 4,941cc S62 V8 was rated at 394 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag 6-speed manual gearbox. The power steering hoses, drive belts, oil, and battery reportedly were changed in April 2019. At the same time, a new chain tensioner was installed.
More than 30 photos of the underside can be seen in the gallery below.
A dolly and cover for the hardtop are included in the sale.
The Carfax report is free of accidents and other issues, and it lists registrations in North Carolina and New York with two owners from new. The video below shows the car driving.
