BaT Auction: 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4

This 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 is finished in Racing Yellow over black leather and was acquired by the seller as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in September 2017. It has been driven approximately 3k miles since, and now shows 13k total miles. Power comes from a 3.8-liter flat-six paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, and factory options include carbon fiber 918-style bucket seats with yellow stitching, a 16.9-gallon fuel tank, black-finished bi-xenon headlamps with PDLS, the Light Design package, Sport Chrono package, aluminum pedals and footrest, a CDR Plus audio system, satin black-finished wheels, Racing Yellow seat belts, and an aluminum-look fuel filler cap. The car is stock according to the seller, it and carries a CPO warranty valid through February 29, 2022 or 100k miles. This GT4 is now being offered with records since the seller’s purchase, CPO documentation, a build sheet, an over-rev report, factory books, three keys, a fitted cover, a clear Carfax, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

This Cayman has not required any paint or bodywork during the past year with the seller, and the included Carfax is both accident and damage-free. GT4s utilize the front suspension system from the contemporary 911 GT3, as well as a uniquely-tuned LSA multi-link rear setup. The official curb weight was quoted at around 2,955 pounds depending on specific options. Note that this particular car was optioned with black rear wing uprights as shown above.

The GT4-specific 20″ alloy wheels were optioned in satin black on this example, and a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires were installed in August 2018. Braking is handled with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear monobloc calipers along with on 380mm cross-drilled and ventilated discs all around.

Inside, this GT4 was optioned with $4,730 918-style carbon fiber bucket seats accented with Racing Yellow stitching throughout the cabin and corresponding yellow seat belts, as depicted above.

A yellow 12-o’clock accent was also optioned on the Alcantara steering wheel, and the seller states that the interior remains stock. Approximately 3k miles have been added within the past year, and the odometer now shows 13k total miles.

The mid-mounted 3.8-liter flat-six was borrowed from the contemporary 991.1 Carrera Sn and produced 385 horsepower at 7,400 rpm and 309 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox and a factory limited-slip differential. An invoice for the most recent oil change in August 2018 accompanies the sale, and additional undercarriage images are displayed in the gallery.

A build sheet is also included, reporting that this car was built in April 2016 and carried a total MSRP of $99,595 including the aforementioned options.
