BaT Auction: 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S 6-Speed

Posted on December 15, 2017

This 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and was optioned with the factory Aerokit, sport exhaust, carbon ceramic brakes, Adaptive Sport Seats, a Sport Chronometer, the Bose sound package, and more as detailed below. Finished in Arctic Silver over a black extended leather interior, the car shows 95k miles and was acquired by the selling dealer three months ago. Power comes from a 3.8-liter flat-six, and a PPI was conducted in November 2017. $3k in follow-up work included a new water pump, spark plugs, ignition coils, an oil service, and repairing the hood and trunk latches. This 997.1 is now being offered in Florida with service records back to 2013 and a clean Mississippi title.

The Arctic Silver Metallic is said to be largely original, though the front bumper was repaired and repainted to correct curb damage to the spoiler. Other noted flaws include a shallow depression on the driver-side rear fender, scratches on the sunroof, and a cracked headlight lens. Slight discoloration is noted on the rearview mirrors, and the paint condition is further detailed in the gallery below.

The factory Aerokit includes a revised front air bumper and dam, chin spoiler, and high fixed rear wing. Options include a Sport Exhaust System, carbon ceramic brakes, Porsche Active Suspension (PASM), and 5mm spacers. The 19″ Porsche Sport Design alloy wheels wear Nexen N7000 tires in front and Bridgestone Potenza S-04 rubber out back.

The well-appointed interior features full leather upholstery with a leather dash and door accents, Adaptive Sport seats, a Sport Chronograph, sport shifter, heated power seats, and an aluminum dead pedal. Some scratches can be seen on the glove box door, and the factory navigation system has been replaced with a Pioneer unit. 94,828 miles are shown on the odometer.

Some discoloration can be found on the embroidered floor mats, and the leather upholstery shows some looseness on the upright surfaces and abrasion along the driver’s back bolsters.

The naturally-aspirated 3.8L flat-six is mated to a 6-speed manual transaxle and produced 355 hp in factory tune. The car was recently serviced at Porsche specialty shop Vertex Auto in Miami, Florida, and the invoice can be seen in the gallery. Over $3k was spent, and work included an oil change and replacement of the water pump, ignition coils, spark plugs, and coolant reservoir tank, among other repairs. A compression test performed at that time reportedly showed consistent results.
