This 2006 BMW M Coupe is finished in black on black and was purchased by the seller in 2011. Driven approximately 9k miles since, the car now shows 79k total miles. Shortly after her purchase, the original engine hydrolocked, and the seller had BMW Master Technicians at iND Distribution in Chicago install a replacement 3.2-liter S54 inline-six at a cost of approximately $9k. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, and other modifications include polyurethane sub-frame bushings and an upgraded stereo system. This M Coupe is now being offered in Oregon with maintenance records from the past 7+ years, a clear Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.
This M Coupe is said to retain all of its original body panels. A previously-installed front lip and rear diffuser were removed in preparation for the sale, and both the front and rear bumpers were professionally repainted as a result. Recently, the exterior was also given an Immaculate Essence ceramic coating.
The exterior is now in stock form, though the seller mentions that some of the original BMW roundel badges have slightly faded over time. A four-wheel alignment was completed by Oregon shop Rev Motorsports prior to this auction.
Inside, the driver and passenger are given heated leather sport seats which show well in these pictures.
A custom dashboard piece was made to house the upgraded double DIN head-unit, while an aftermarket amplifier and Morel component door speakers are also installed. All stereo work was completed by Cartronix in Chicago. Interior flaws are listed as a loose emergency brake cable and a driver’s seat belt buckle that is difficult to latch.
The transplanted 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was rated by BMW at peaks of 330 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque when new. Recent maintenance included sealing the VANOS unit, a valve adjustment at 74k miles, new spark plugs, new valve cover gaskets/grommets/o-rings, a new battery, new starter, and a transmission flush with Motul 75w90 fluid. During the seller’s ownership, all mechanical maintenance has been completed by iND Distribution in Chicago and RHOM Innovations in Portland, both of which have BMW Master Technicians on staff.
The accident-free Carfax reports that this BMW was sold new in Georgia. The seller says that she is the third owner and has kept the car in Oregon for the past five years.
