BaT Auction: 19K-Mile 2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S

Posted on September 20, 2018

This 2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S is finished in Onyx Black Metallic over a two-tone Black and Moon Shadow leather cabin, and shows 19,338 total miles. Just 1,086 Vanquish S models were produced worldwide between 2004-2007, and power comes from a 6.0-liter DOHC V12 paired with a 6-speed automated manual transmission. Compared to the standard Vanquish, the S features increased output of 520 horsepower, revised gear and rear-axle ratios, and updated styling. The selling dealer states that this particular car carried a $255k MSRP and is stock aside from 3M clear bra applied to the nose and rear quarter panels when new. This Aston Martin is now being offered with factory books, a clean Carfax, and a clean New York title.

A three-stage paint correction process and buff job was completed just prior to this auction. The seller is not aware of any prior paint or bodywork, and the included Carfax is both accident and damage-free. The Vanquish was designed by Ian Callum, and revised styling for S models included a larger front grille and splitter, plus a raised rear boot lid to improve downforce. 3M clear paint protection was reportedly applied to the front of the vehicle and the rear quarter panels when new.

This car is fitted with silver-finished 19″ 11-spoke alloy wheels, which showcase the factory slotted brake rotors with large calipers. A set of 255/40 series front and 285/40 series rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires are currently mounted, and each corner is detailed in the photo gallery.

This particular car was ordered with two-tone Black and Moon Shadow leather upholstery, which is accented with an optional quilter suede headliner, aluminum trim, and stitched leather on the door panels, center console, dashboard, and steering wheel. The interior has been kept stock according to the seller, who also notes that 2006 model-year Vanquishes received a revised dashboard and center stack with a larger navigation screen.

The 6-speed automated transmission can be shifted manually using steering wheel-mounted paddles. Currently the digital odometer shows just 19,338 miles, which is backed up by the included Carfax. Around 350 miles were recently added by the seller, including a 300-mile round-trip with no issues.

In Vanquish S specification, the naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter DOHC V12 produced 520 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, a 60 horsepower bump from the standard Vanquish. Torque was 425 lb-ft at 5,800 rpm. According to the manufacturer, these cars could top 200 mph. Mechanicals are stock to the seller’s knowledge.

The accident-free Carfax reports two owners with registration in Florida and New York. The car was sold new in Florida and appears to have stayed there until moving to New York in 2011, and has traveled between the two locations since.
