This 1976 Kawasaki KZ750 B1 comes from the model’s first year in production and is powered by a 745cc parallel twin paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The bike is said to have remained with its original owner through the mid-1990s, and with the second owner until its acquisition by the selling dealer earlier this year. The bodywork is finished in metallic red with polished fenders, and aluminum wheels from a later Kawasaki have been fitted along with new tires. An oil change has been carried out along with replacement of several bulbs, the speedometer cable, and the rear brake master cylinder. This KZ750 is offered with a tool kit, owner’s manual, and clean Wisconsin title.
The fuel tanks, side covers, and seat cowl are finished in dark metallic red with factory-style pinstripes and badging. The seller notes corrosion at the bottom of the aluminum fork tubes, and close-up photos of the lighting and bright trim are provided in the gallery. The 19″ and 16″ cast aluminum wheels are reportedly from a later Kawasaki, and have been with new Challenger tires.
The bike is equipped with a black vinyl tandem seat featuring a grab handle for the rear passenger. A photo of the inside of the tank taken through the fuel filler is provided in the gallery below.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,800-rpm redline, and an indicator panel. The selling dealer notes that several indicator lights have been replaced and a new old-stock speedometer cable has been installed. Approximately 13k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, with total mileage unknown.
The overhead-cam 745cc parallel twin features two valves per cylinder, and its factory output was rated at 55 horsepower at 7k rpm. Power is sent rearward through a 5-speed transmission and single drive chain. The selling dealer has performed an oil and filter change as well as installing an updated rear brake master cylinder.
