This 1973 Mercury Capri is powered by a 2.6-liter V6 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car reportedly remained with its original owner until 2012 when it was acquired by the second owner who, after pulling the engine, parked it in his garage until the seller acquired it one year ago. Since then, the engine has been rebuilt by Group 2 Motorsports of Seattle, a new clutch was installed, and various maintenance and repairs made to bring the car back to roadworthy condition. The seller has added around 2000 of the 48k miles shown, mainly driving the car to enthusiast events. This 1973 Capri is offered with some records dating back to 1973, receipts for the work recently completed, the original 13″ steel wheels, and a Washington State title.
The red finish can be seen in varying lighting conditions in the gallery below. Areas of corrosion, mainly around the wheel arches, are noted by the seller and highlighted in the gallery. Tears and cuts in the vinyl roof are also visible. New 14″ Superlite alloy wheels wear Ohtsu FP7000 tires, and the stock 13″ steel wheels with tires are also included. The seller reports that the car runs well, but that the suspension could stand to be refreshed.

The 2-spoke steering wheel fronts a stock dashboard housing six gauges, and a new speedometer cable has been installed. An Audiovox cassette stereo has been installed in the radio slot, and powers two speakers mounted in the doors, and two in the rear. 48k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer. The 2.6-liter V6 was rebuilt and is equipped with a Delta performance camshaft, new carburetor, new distributor, electric fuel pump, new ancillary belt, and fuel filter. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission via a reconditioned flywheel and new clutch. In preparation for the auction, engine oil, transmission fluid, differential oil, brake fluid, and coolant have been serviced, and a new battery has been installed.
