This 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible is powered by a numbers-matching 396ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. The car was first sold by Sexton Chevrolet Cadillac of Harriman, Tennessee in December 1966, and is said to have remained within the family of the original owner until 2016. It underwent a refurbishment while under previous ownership with work said to include a repaint in blue and replacement of the white convertible top and interior carpeting. Equipment includes bucket seats, Rally wheels, a dual exhaust system, and power-assisted steering and brakes. Purchased by the seller in 2017, this Impala SS is now offered in Canada with a build sheet, a window sticker, a 1966 sales invoice, a Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manuals, historical documentation, spare parts, a car cover, and Ontario registration.
The body was refinished in its factory color of Marina Blue during prior ownership, and equipment includes a special grille, rocker trim, and badging as part of the Super Sport package. Additional photos in the gallery highlight the condition of the exterior finish, trim, and replacement white convertible top.
The car rides on 15″ Rally wheels fitted with polished trim rings and 235/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown redline tires. A matching spare and jacking equipment are stored within the trunk.
A blue monochromatic interior treatment includes the upholstery on the front bucket seats, the rear bench, door panels, dashboard, and replacement carpeting. Features include a center console, power-assisted steering and brakes, and seatbelts for the front and rear occupants.
Instrumentation consists of a tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, supplementary gauges, and a five-digit odometer that shows approximately 79k miles, about 3k of which have been added by the seller. Actual mileage is unknown, and the radio and the clock are inoperative.
The 396ci Turbojet V8 is topped with a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor and was factory rated at 325 horsepower for 1967. The engine stamping shown within the gallery includes the digits 144770, which match the vehicle’s serial number. Additionally, the IV suffix on the same pad stamping corresponds with the L35 396ci engine for three-speed automatic applications. Maintenance completed by the seller in 2017 has included changing the fluids and replacing the battery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo Hydra-matic 400 automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end.
The December 1966 sales invoice shows a total price of $4,184.19, and the order form shows trade-in information. A build sheet, a window sticker, and Protect-O-Plate are also included in the sale along with registrations from previous ownership, owner’s manuals, spare parts, and a car cover.
