BaT Auction: 1963 Volkswagen Beetle

Posted on October 22, 2019

This 1963 Volkswagen Beetle was purchased by the seller in 1995 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 1999. It is finished in light blue over a light blue interior and features a sliding cloth roof. Power is from a 1,300cc flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle, and the car has reportedly covered just 245 miles since the completion of the work. This Beetle is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The 1,300cc flat-four is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, both of which are said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment that was completed in 1999. The car has been converted from a 6-volt electrical system to a 12-volt system, and a replacement wiring harness has been fitted. Recent service reportedly included a carburetor rebuild and the installation of a replacement battery.
