This 1963 Volkswagen Beetle was purchased by the seller in 1995 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 1999. It is finished in light blue over a light blue interior and features a sliding cloth roof. Power is from a 1,300cc flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle, and the car has reportedly covered just 245 miles since the completion of the work. This Beetle is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was reportedly disassembled and repainted light blue during the refurbishment. Equipment includes a tan cloth sliding roof and pop-out rear quarter windows.
15” wheels wear Star Skymaster Metric tires. The steel wheels feature a body-color center section and chrome hubcaps with the VW logo.
The interior is trimmed in light blue with white piping and features light blue carpeting and two-tone white and blue door panels. The seat and sliding roof frames have been powder-coated white.
The two-spoke white steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a painted dashboard housing factory instrumentation and chrome trim. The odometer shows 245 miles, which reportedly represents the mileage covered since the completion of the refurbishment. True mileage is unknown.
The 1,300cc flat-four is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, both of which are said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment that was completed in 1999. The car has been converted from a 6-volt electrical system to a 12-volt system, and a replacement wiring harness has been fitted. Recent service reportedly included a carburetor rebuild and the installation of a replacement battery.
