The 599 was designed by Pininfarina under the direction of Jason Castriota. Functional aerodynamic elements reportedly produce up to 353 pounds of downforce and include underbody venturi tunnels and C-pillar buttresses. This example is finished in Nero with optional Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. Per the seller, the front bumper appears to have been repainted, and stone chips are present on the forward surfaces and on the underside of the rockers ahead of the rear wheels.
Forged 20″ Monolithic wheels are mounted with older Pirelli PZero tires. The car is equipped with the optional Brembo carbon ceramic braking system, which features six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers.
Power-adjustable Daytona-style sport seats feature carbon fiber backs and are trimmed in black leather with yellow contrast stitching. Equipment includes a Cascade Telematic navigation system, Homelink, an electrochomatic rearview mirror, automatic climate control, and a leather-lined rear parcel shelf. The seller notes some curling in the rear parcel shelf leather as well as scratches in the soft-touch ashtray, door lock switch, and HVAC panel face. Stickiness is present on the seat controls, HVAC pushbuttons, and the center of the headlight switch.
The 10k-rpm tachometer features a yellow background and is flanked by a 220-mph speedometer and a digital display handling secondary instrument functions. Approximately 14,500 miles are shown on the digital odometer, a few hundred of which were added by the current owner.
The 6.0-liter F140C V12 was originally rated at 612 horsepower at 8,400 rpm and 448 lb-ft of torque at 5,600 rpm. This example is a factory-supplied replacement that was installed by Ferrari Beverly Hills in May 2019 after a burst coolant hose caused failure of the original engine. The invoice for this $80,117.00 service is viewable in the gallery, and the car also received a new clutch at that time. The left- and right-bank fuel pumps were replaced in 2016.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed F1 SuperFast electrohydraulic transmission. Per an included invoice, the F1 shifter pump and relay were replaced in August 2019. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
Factory manuals stow in a brown leather folio. The set secures to the side of the trunk with a pair of leather straps, which the seller notes show some wear.
The Carfax report shows no history of accidents or other damage, and lists ownership in California from new.
